About Me
What guides my work
I’m drawn to understanding the ways we as people try to make sense of ourselves and the world we live in — the contradictions we live with, the questions that persist, and the quiet ways we adapt to life’s demands. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful and capable, yet feel stuck, conflicted, or unsure how to move forward without losing parts of themselves. My role is to notice what matters to you and to help you explore it in a way that feels both challenging and supportive. I’m attentive to what is said, what feels unsayable, and the ways familiar responses tend to re-emerge across different areas of your life. The work is steady and engaged, taking the time it needs for understanding to unfold, and giving you room to stay with uncertainty long enough for meaning to take shape.

Training and experience
I work as a BACP-accredited psychotherapist in Southsea in person and online. I hold a BA in Integrative Counselling and an MA in Advanced Clinical Practice. Alongside private practice, I’ve worked in charitable and low-cost services, supporting both short-term and long-term work. This has shaped an approach that is ethically grounded, responsive to the individual, and attentive to questions of agency, responsibility, and purpose. I often notice how people struggle to stay connected to what they truly want or need, particularly when parts of themselves have been set aside or overlooked. Even the quietest inner responses deserve attention, and noticing them can open up new understanding and possibilities.

In our work together
Therapy with me is about creating the conditions for you to see yourself more clearly — including the parts shaped by history, culture, faith, relationships, and responsibility — and to develop greater freedom in how you live and relate to yourself and others. Much of my work involves sitting with moments of tension, where people feel pulled in different directions or caught between responsibility, loyalty, and their own experience. Our aim is to develop clarity you can return to, a steadier sense of what matters to you, and the confidence to make choices that feel internally aligned. Over time, we work towards a point where you feel able to continue this reflective work independently, with a clearer sense of your values and how you want to live.
