Psychotherapy in Southsea, Portsmouth and Online
You might come to therapy because you sense there is more to understand. Perhaps something in your life has begun to feel misaligned — even if, on the surface, everything looks fine. Patterns repeat. Relationships feel complicated. A quiet dissatisfaction hums in the background.

I offer weekly psychotherapy in Southsea, Portsmouth and online for adults who want to work at depth. My approach is grounded in four areas: how we make sense of our lives and purpose, how experience lives in the body, how we relate to ourselves and others, and how we find agency within our circumstances.

This is reflective, relational work for those who want to understand themselves more fully — and gradually shape their life that feels more fully their own.
Why People Seek Therapy?
Psychotherapist in Southsea & Online | Sarah Adele
People come to therapy for many different reasons. Sometimes the difficulty is clear — anxiety, low mood, or challenges in relationships or at work. Other times, it’s less obvious. You may just be noticing a sense of unease that’s hard to name.

You might recognise yourself in some of the following:
-
Repeating patterns in relationships that feel hard to change
-
Persistent anxiety or periods of low mood
-
Ongoing self-doubt, inner conflict, or harsh self-criticism
-
Feeling constrained, dissatisfied, or out of alignment with your life
-
Difficulty making decisions or trusting your own judgement
-
Times of transition, loss, or change that have unsettled your sense of identity or direction
In therapy, we begin by noticing what feels most pressing and being curious about what might be shaping it. By staying with what feels difficult or unclear, new understanding — and different possibilities — can emerge over time.

Your Options
I offer weekly psychotherapy sessions, either face-to-face in Southsea and Portsmouth, or online. I work with adults from a wide range of backgrounds, and sessions take place in a private, confidential setting.

Some people come with a specific issue they want to focus on; others arrive with a more general sense of unease or a wish to understand themselves better. Therapy can be time-limited or longer-term, and this is something we can think about together in our early sessions and return to as the work develops.
Starting Out
Before beginning therapy, I offer a free 30-minute online call. This is an opportunity to meet briefly, talk about what has brought you here, and ask any questions you may have.

There is no expectation to decide anything during this call. It’s simply a chance to get a sense of how I work, and whether taking things further feels right for you.
Is This For Me?
You might be considering therapy because something in you wants more honesty, more room to think, or a different relationship with yourself and others — even if you’re not sure what that looks like yet.

This way of working suits people who are open to staying with questions for a while, and who are interested in understanding themselves more fully. If this feels relevant to you, you may find this work supportive.
